LOTS TO DO IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Visitors to The Paddocks Touring Park at Ingliston Estate will find several walking and cycling paths close to hand, that are appropriate for people of all fitness levels and interests. The Paddocks central location also offers access to nearby West Dunbartonshire, which is home to Loch Lomond, and Inverclyde, where paddle boarding, kayaking, and wild swimming are popular activities.

Hiking And Walking

The route of the Clyde Coastal path runs over the old A8 road at Ingliston. It can take walking enthusiasts all the way to Wemyss Bay and the ferry to Bute in the west, or eastbound over the Erskine Bridge to Milngavie and the start of the West Highland Way.

There are also shorter local circular walking routes posted by Renfrewshire’s Walking Network, many of which are also dog friendly.

Cycling

Being situated close to the Clyde Coastal Path opens a wide world of opportunities for Cyclists staying at The Paddocks.

Ferries are in easy reach at Gourock to access the Cowal and Rosneath peninsulas, and the Erskine Bridge offers cycle lane connection to the Forth and Clyde canal, which goes all the way through Glasgow to the Falkirk Wheel and beyond.

Head south over the moors and pick up the national cycle route at Bridge of Weir to enjoy traffic free travel in a country-wide network of purpose-built paths.

Water Sports

Not far away is Renfrewshire’s water sports centre at Lochwinnoch, with its RSPB bird sanctuary, across the river is the Forth and Clyde Canal and the quirky marina at Bowling Harbour. As you go down river you’ll find great sailing waters as the Clyde opens out into its estuary, and clubs and marinas to accommodate every size of craft.
