PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

We are committed to ensuring that our impact in the environment is positive, and are proud to be ethically and environmentally conscious with a focus on sustainability wherever possible.

Ingliston Estate has one of the largest single footprint of Solar Panels in Scotland. We regularly review our energy usage, from lighting and laundry to the vehicles used on our site. We have also installed six electric vehicle charging points, located in the main car park of the Estate, for guest use.

Our three polytunnels are used to grow many of the plants throughout our estate, in addition to many of the herbs, vegetables and garnishes used in Palomino’s restaurant. Our chefs work with local suppliers to ensure both excellent produce and less food miles – making us more sustainable.

Ground preparation is also well underway for fruit-bearing orchards and with thriving beehives now on site we look forward to a wonderful harvest of honey this coming summer and an abundance of pollination from our busy bees.  Not stopping there, we also reuse the horse manure (of which we have plenty) as a nutrient-rich fertiliser!

We have recently introduced new features in Palominos Restaurant with the installation of Nordic moss walls, not only is this be an appealing addition to the eye but comes with a number of environmental benefits such as natural insolation and improved air quality.

Maintaining a sustainable and eco-conscious business whilst preparing and safeguarding for the future is right at our heart and passion here at Ingliston Estate.
